- Location: Qujing City, Yunnan Province
Cuan Baozi Stele (爨宝子碑) was erected in the 4th year (404) of the Daheng reign of the Eastern Jin Dynasty to memorize Cuan Baozi, the deceased governor of Jianning. The stele was unearthed in the 43rd year (1778) of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty in Yangqitian Village, Qujing City, Yunnan Province.
It is a semicircular style stele 1.83 meters high, 0.68 meters wide and 0.21 meters thick. The calligraphy of the stele shifts between Lishu (official script) and Kaishu (regular script), providing the stele with precious clues for studying the evolutionary process of Chinese calligraphy.
