Architectures
- The Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple
Located in the Yingxian County, Shanxi Province, the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple, also known as the Yingxian Pagoda, is the oldest full-wooden pagoda still standing in China.
- Main hall of Nanchan Temple
Situated in Lijia Village, 22 km southwest of Wutai County of Shanxi Province, the main hall of Nanchan Temple was built in the third year of Jianzhong Reign (782 AD), and it is the oldest wooden structure in China.
- Foguang Temple
Located in Foguang New Village, 30 km from Wutai County, Shanxi Province, Foguang Temple was established in the reign of Emperor Xiaowen (471 - 499) in the Northern Wei dynasty.
- Jin Ancestral Temple
Located 25 km southwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, Jin Ancestral Temple boasts ancient buildings set in a tranquil environment.
- Shanhua Temple
Located in southwest Datong, Shanxi Province, Shanhua Temple, also known as South Temple, was originally constructed in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Jin, Yuan and Ming Dynasties.
- Huayan Temple
Located in the southwest corner of Datong City, Shanxi Province, Huayan Temple is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (907-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) regimes.
- Guangsheng Temple
Located 17 km to the northeast of Hongdong County, Shanxi Province, Guangsheng Temple was originally constructed in 147 AD of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
- Yongle Palace
Located in Ruicheng County, Shanxi Province, the construction of the temple began in 1247 and was completed in 1358 during the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), while the famous Yongle Palace murals were painted during the ensuing Ming and Qing dynasties.
