The Xiaotang Mountain Guo Family Ancestral Hall (孝堂山郭氏墓石祠), also known as The Xiaotang Mountain Han Shrine, or Xiaotang Mountain Guo Family Tomb Stone Ancestral Hall, is the earliest stone house building in China.
Situated at the top of Xiaotang Mountain, Changqing County, Shandong Province, the Xiaotang Mountain Shrine has been identified as being Guo Ju’s shrine. The Shrine is a free-standing stone construction topped by a single-eave and hanging hill-shaped roof. The shrine is 4.14 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 2.64 meters tall. The stone walls and the triangular stone girders are engraved with a variety of images and depictions of legendary tales, historic events, royal audiences, travel, guest receptions, war campaigns, hunting expeditions, and cooking and recreation scenes. The vivid wall carvings are highly valuable, both in terms of historical and artistic value.
