Dunhuang nominated for ‘Smart City’award

Dunhuang was nominated for the “Smart City”award at the Smart City Expo 2016 in Barcelona, Spain on November 16.

Dunhuang is so far the first Chinese city to receive the nomination.

The award consisted of three categories: City Award, Project Award and Innovation Award.

Dunghuang, together with New York, Moscow, Poona, Seoul and Hollands Kroon, was shortlisted for the City Award and New York was the winner.

The Smart City Expo, initiated by the Spanish government and World Banks alongside other organizations, is now the biggest of its kind in the world. Attended by world-famous ICT companies like IBM, Huawei, Miscrosoft, SAP, Cisco, AWS, Siemens and Amazon, the expo aims to facilitate industry exchanges and the provision of new smart city solutions.

Dunhuang, presenting itself with the theme of making smart travel, especially Silk Road themed travel, a leader in smart city development, was hailed at the expo.
