The 3,000-square-meter Finnish Pavilion "Kirnu" resembles a huge white kettle floating on water. It showcases a mini Finnish society.
Pertti Huitu, Finland Deputy, said, "The inspiration for the layout comes from nature and Finland's islands. It's the best layout from a nationwide competition."
Over 100 pavilions will be built in Shanghai's five-square-kilometer World Expo Park. Most of the projects are scheduled for completion by the end of the year. The most being spent on any single pavilion construction is over 100 million US dollars.
