Expo Park restaurants and cafeterias began receiving customers on the first day of official operation.

Food supply is a crucial issue for the estimated 70 million visitors to the 184-day exhibition.

At the Food Expo cafeteria, customers find something to meet both eastern and western tastes.

Staff of COFCO Food Expo, said, "This hamburger is not made with bread, but rice. Between the rice pads there is meat, vegetables, and ketchup. It's an innovation. We sold more than a hundred since we opened an hour ago."

The Food Expo is run by China's biggest food product and service provider: China National Cereals, Oils and Food stuffs Corporation.

Besides providing catering services, COFCO is also exhibiting its various products and showcasing China's achievements in the food industry.

Yu Xubo, President of COFCO, said, "China has five thousand years' of history and culture. The Food Expo is meant to showcase the extensive and profound cuisine culture of China."

The group says it wants to be a promoter of harmony between humans and nature and a guide to rebuilding beautiful lives in cities.

The Food Expo will host a series of activities on food, and share the authentic taste of China with people from around the world.
