It's National Pavilion Day for Montenegro at the World Expo. The pavilion's exterior is inspired by the country's natural scenery. But once inside, it's all about an elaborate photo exhibition.
The mastermind behind the exhibition is a Montenegrin photographer named Maya. She felt a bit tired after a 15-hour nonstop flight from her home country to Shanghai, but got excited right away when the topic of the Shanghai World Expo came up.
Maya says her grandmother was honored to participate in the 15th Expo held in Belgium in 1905... the same year Montenegro joined the Expo for the first time as a state. Maya was so excited to come to the Shanghai World Expo this time, because it's like a family dream come true.
Maya also hopes visitors will get a panoramic view of her home country through her pictures, which vividly reflect the natural richness and cultural diversity of Montenegro.
Montenegro is a small country in size, but is well known for its mountain ranges. The design of the Montenegro Pavilion, which is made of metal panels, reminds visitors of mountains through its abstract geometric patterns. The pavilion also features an exhibition showcasing the country's forests, parks, and coastal cities. Together, they reveal the charm and beauty that is Montenegro.
