The Sweden Pavilion

Let's Cook!

As anyone who's ever seen their kids make "mud pies" can attest, children love to cook. The Sweden Pavilion caters to this desire with their futuristic kitchen area; all the pipes and utensils are painted in bright colors, and the kitchen is built to suit smaller chefs.

After cooking, kids can take a ride on a slide down to the first floor of the pavilion. Upon emerging from the slide, they'll find themselves in a park full of swing sets.

Another playground located elsewhere in the pavilion features slides, ropes and other fun attractions. Since the area is so large, children don't have to wait in lines to play in it.

Following kids on their adventure through the pavilion is Pipi, the mascot of the Sweden Pavilion. Pipi lives all by herself in a small house in the pavilion, and is always cooking up strange and fun ideas for kids to try out.

Pipi is the most popular cartoon character in Sweden; organizers chose her because of her popularity and also because she encourages children to "think wide and dare to try."
