Young performaners bring music to Shanghai

Young musicians from all over the world are taking part in the ongoing Shanghai Expo from Sunday to July 18th as part of the "Young Expo" series of the events.
Orchestras from some of the world's most prestigious universities have landed in Shanghai to share a world of musical styles.
The Royal Danish Academy of Music Percussion Group is the first orchestra to grace the stage at the Expo Square. They are among the two-thousand students from more than 30 institutions across the world that will be performing at the venue.
The University of Utah Jazz Band performed a 20-minute set. Conducted by Henry Wolking, the 20-member band specially prepared the traditional Chinese selection, "Moonlight Tunes."
Yale University's Whiffenpoofs was the last band to take the stage. But they were certainly not the least with their passionate and humorous choral singing. Founded in 1909, the Whiffenpoofs are an all male cappella group.
Co-organized by the Shanghai Expo Bureau and Fudan University, the "Carnival of World Universities" was part of the "Young Expo" program.
The musical styles will be wide ranging -- from percussion, jazz, rock, and folk, to classical, dance, and choral works.
