USA Pavilion welcomes six millionth visitor

The USA Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai welcomed its six millionth visitor on September 30. As the six millionth visitor to the USA Pavilion, Shi Qiuwen and Zhang Xiaowang from Beijing, received a USA Pavilion Commemorative Golden Medal and other pavilion memorabilia.

As the six millionth visitor to the USA Pavilion, Shi Qiuwen and Zhang Xiaowang from Beijing, received a USA Pavilion Commemorative Golden Medal and other pavilion memorabilia. They were welcomed by many Student Ambassadors and staff members at the Pavilion from across the United States. This is Shi Qiuwen and Zhang Xiaowang's first visit to the Expo.

"This is a proud moment. At the start, we anticipated the USA Pavilion would welcome around six million guests over the duration of Expo," said Ambassador José H. Villarreal, U.S. Commissioner General. "Today, however, it gives me great pleasure to announce our six millionth visitor in just five months. The USA Pavilion is currently on track to welcome over seven million visitors and we are eagerly anticipating October which will undoubtedly be an exciting and memorable month."

Being one of the most popular pavilions at Expo 2010, the USA Pavilion has kept a momentum of accommodating 42,000 visitors per day, and is expected to receive more than six million guests over the entire duration of the Expo.

Being one of the most popular pavilions at Expo 2010, the USA Pavilion has kept a momentum of hosting 45,000 visitors per day, and is expected to receive more than seven million guests over the entire duration of the Expo.

At over 60,000 square feet (6,000 square meters), the USA Pavilion is one of the largest national pavilions at the Expo. With the theme of "Rising to the Challenge", the United States presence will showcase American culture, values, innovation and business in one of China's most dynamic cities, while celebrating the friendship and cooperation between the United States, China and the rest of the world.
