East Lake in Wuhan, located in the eastern suburb of the city, Hubei Province, is going to be upgraded as a national wetland park. With an area of 33 square kilometers, East Lake is the largest of all city lakes in China. The wetlands of East Lake have proved significant in helping purify local waters and improve regional climate conditions. The East Lake scenic spot and part of the Luoyan (Diving Wild Goose) scenic spot will be included in the wetland garden, which covers 10.2 square kilometers. [Photo: Xinhuanet]
