As the Spring Festival travel peak approaches, China is giving
special care to its large number of rural workers by providing
round-trip ticket service next year, so as to ensure a smooth
home-going and safe return for multitudes of rural workers during
the festival.
A source from the railway department said that rural workers can
purchase round-trip tickets from railway stations in major cities
like Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhou or Hangzhou, which are either
hinge cities or cities with large trafficking of rural workers.
According to the new policy, an enterprise with more than 100
rural workers can apply for group booking of hard-seat train
tickets for its employees.
The return ticket for rural workers will be marked by the word
"Return" on its face, and the respective seal of the employee's
enterprise. A special seal for finance will be found on the
back.
The railway department will collectively deal with rural
workers' ticket booking services from January 11 to 31, while the
return trip period will span from February 10 to 20. Covered
stations will set up specific booths to handle this service.
