Shanghai was not affected by Typhoon Neoguri, but there would be a thunderstorm and showers over the next two days, weather forecasters said yesterday.
As Neoguri hit China's southern areas and disrupted traffic, several flights to and from Xiamen, in Fujian Province, were delayed at Shanghai airports.
Heavy wind caused some small ferry boats between the downtown area and local islands to cease services out of safety concerns yesterday, the maritime authority said.
The meteorological authority said the strong wind that hit the city yesterday was not connected with Neoguri.
It was the result of low pressure systems that will also bring more rain.
A storm is forecast for today while there will be rain showers tomorrow.
Until Thursday, low temperatures will be between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius.
Thursday will see a high of 22 degrees Celsius.
