Another BJ airport to halt flights during opening ceremony
Adjust font size:

Following a flight suspension at Beijing Capital International Airport announced on Tuesday, a local newspaper said the city's Nanyuan Airport would also be subject to the suspension during the Olympic Games opening ceremony.

No planes would be allowed to take off or land at both airports from 7 p.m. to midnight on August 8, the Beijing Evening News reported on Saturday citing the China Civil Aviation Administration.

The Beijing Nanyuan Airport in the city's south is for both military and civil use.

The security measure was a common practice shared by other countries that had hosted the Olympics, and the move was ratified by the Chinese government.

The administration said flights would be rescheduled to minimize inconvenience for passengers and they could get full reimbursement for delayed flight tickets.
