According to a survey issued by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, as of August 12, star-grade hotels in Beijing hosted 78,000 domestic and overseas visitors, 4,000 more than the total number on August 8, 2008.
Of these, 39,000 visitors were from the domestic market, and 39,000 were inbound tourists. On August 12, the occupancy rate of five-star hotels in Beijing reached 80.3%; that for hotels at and below three-star levels were between 30% and 40%. Rates for hotels at and above three-star levels decreased, while those for hotels below three-star level increased.
Meanwhile, the number of arrivals visiting to attractions in Beijing is obviously growing.
