Jumeirah signs for new hotel in Macau

The Jumeirah Hotel Group has announced that it has signed a management agreement with Shun Tak Holdings for a new deluxe hotel in Macau.

Pansy Ho, managing director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited, and Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of Jumeirah Group, signed the management cooperation agreement in Hong Kong.

The Jumeirah Macau Hotel built by the Shun Tak Group is located at the center of Cotai, Macau, close to Macau East Asian Games Dome which is the designated venue for many cultural and sports events held in Macau. Completion of the hotel is scheduled for 2013.

Ho said that this project will include a five-star hotel and service apartments. No details have been published about the size of the investment in new hotel or its construction area. Shun Tak Group said that it would next look for new opportunities in the fields of aviation, transportation, and hotel business outside of Macau.

Lawless said that this is the third management cooperation agreement that Jumeirah Hotel Group has signed in China, the others are Jumeirah HanTang Xintiandi scheduled to open in Shanghai in 2009 and Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel in 2011.
