Changzhou Municipal Tourism Department says that the city has eight additional environmentally-friendly hotels, but it has not disclosed the names of these hotels.
It says Changzhou has already had 21 environmentally-friendly hotels. Of these, Grand Soluxe International Hotel Changzhou has been accredited as a national eco-efficient golden leaf grade hotel for its effective measures and solid achievement in energy-saving. And other four hotels, including Oak Bay Garden Hotel and Jinling Hotels & Resorts, are expected to be listed as eco-efficient gold leaf hotels in the first half of 2009.
The China National Tourism Administration issued a set of standards for eco-efficient hotels in 2006. Now with the global financial crisis, these standards have been taken by many hotels as a way of saving money and they are busy adopting these standards.
