Online payment platform Tenpay from Tencent has announced a strategic cooperation with China Eastern Airlines.

The two companies will conduct in-depth cooperation on payments for online ticket booking, the operation of a joint ticket platform, and the distribution and settlement of business travel services.

Tenpay will be the first third-party payment company to cooperate with China Eastern. It has already established cooperation agreements with China Southern, Shenzhen Airlines, Spring Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and Shandong Airlines.

Under this agreement, Tenpay will provide a comprehensive payment and settlement platform to ensure a more convenient and diversified online ticket booking service. After logging on their QQ accounts, passengers can not only enjoy ticket query and booking, but can select seats and handle the self-service check-in procedures online.

Through Tenpay's online payment channels of nearly 30 domestic banks, China Eastern will reduce its operating cost of online marketing.
