Chinese National Tourism Administration has published the result of its tourist satisfaction survey for the second quarter of 2009.
The survey covered 40 sample cities of 31 provinces, more than 7,000 questionnaires and 100,000 tourist reviews from nine online travel media.
According to the survey, the overall tourist satisfaction index is 79.06 (full score 100). For domestic travel the number is 78.90, for inbound tourism it is 81.07, and for outbound tourism it is 88.52.
The survey shows that domestic tourists are most satisfactory about services of scenic spots, followed by transport, entertainment, dining, lodging, shopping and travel agencies. And inbound tourists show little difference in satisfaction about these services.
Many factors have influenced tourist satisfaction: the excessive shopping activities, unauthorized changing of plans, the service quality of destination management companies, insufficient transport services at tourism destinations, the delay in travel information service, and many other problems.
