Hiphop lovers can sign up for a local contest from today. Held by the Shanghai Tourism Administration, the contest is a part of the Shanghai tourism festival, officials said.

The contest will be held from September 17 to 19 at the Century Square on the Nanjing Road E. The top prize will be 10,000 yuan (US$1,430).

People can call 6240 0833 to register. The deadline is September 13.

The tourism festival will be held from September 12 to October 6 and will include several traditional events, such as a float parade and fireworks festival.

The Shanghai International Music Fireworks Firework Festival is to cooperate with the Shanghai Science and Techonology Museum this year.

Two packages have been made for families and young couples. One package, which is for families, will include visiting the museum during the daytime and watching the fireworks at Century Park in the evening. Another, for couples, will include the firework show and night movies at the museum.

Firework companies from China, UK, Switzerland and Italy will be involved in the displays on September 30, October 3 and October 6.
