An exhibition called "The Road to Revitalization" will soon be unveiled free to the public at the National Museum, which has just finished part of its already two year long renovation.
The complete overhaul and expansion project of the museum started in the beginning of 2007 and is expected to complete in the latter half of 2010.
After being closed for two and a half years, this is its first time welcoming visitors with a 10,000-square-meter northern hall re-opened.
From September 25 to November 29 of this year, "The Road to Revitalization" will showcase the 170-year renaissance of China with 1,150 precious cultural relics and 980 historic photos.
The exhibition also touches on quake relief, Beijing's hosting of the 29th Olympic Games, the 30th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, as well as the handling of the financial crisis.
The first national flag that was raised at the ceremony of the founding of the Republic of China, will be seen at the museum.
The official opening of the National Museum is at 12 p.m. on September 25, while it will temporarily close on September 28 and October 2.
