Haier ranked 27th most innovative company

Qingdao's Haier Co. was ranked 27th in the 2010 Top 50 World’s Most Innovative Companies by U.S. publication BusinessWeek, becoming the first Chinese household electrical appliances firm in the list. The company has made consistent efforts in products, technology and management innovations over the past 30 years. Located in Qingdao, Haier is the leading maker of white goods globally and one of the most recognized brands in China. Since the beginning, the company has worked on product innovation to meet users’ demands, gradually becoming a well-known company on the global stage. Several products, such as Haier’s 3D refrigerator and side-by-side combination refrigerator, have won several international design awards over the past few years. By the end of 2009, Haier had applied for 9,738 patents, 2,799 of which were invention patents, ranking first among Chinese appliance enterprises. On the basis of its independent intellectual property, Haier has participated in the setting of 23 international standards, and seven patents involving powder-free wash technology and insulators have been issued. Haier has led or taken part in the preparation and revision of a total of 232 national standards. |
