Qingdao Museum

Qingdao Museum is an integrated local museum of history and arts. 

Founded in 1965, Qingdao Museum (青岛博物馆) is an integrated local museum of history and arts. In 2000, the new Qingdao Museum was officially opened to the public in Laoshan. The new museum covers a land area of 7 hectares and has a floor space totaling 30,000 square meters. The main building of the new museum has three stories above ground and one story underground, and includes 16 exhibition halls and a winding corridor. The total exhibition area exceeds 7,000 square meters. Qingdao Museum has become a cultural landmark and a marvelous cultural spot in Qingdao.

Now the museum has a collection of more than 30 categories and 160,000 pieces of curios, including calligraphy and paintings, pottery, porcelain and jade wares and ancient coins. Many of them are rare treasures in the world.

There is a permanent show on the history of Qingdao and five other special shows on ancient coins, porcelain arts from Ming and Qing Dynasties, woodcut New Year pictures, ancient arts and crafts and Gao Fenghan’s calligraphy and paintings.
