The Qingdao Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade began issuing the certificate of origin under the Supplement VIII to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement, which was effective from April 1.

The announcement is regarded as favorable for local enterprises having transactions with their Hong Kong and Macao counterparts.

The Supplement VIII revises origin criteria measures relating to trade in goods and adds cumulative rules of origin, facilitating deeper resource integration and demand-supply allocation in the manufacturing industry of Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland.

The Qingdao Branch reminded local foreign trade companies of learning about the content of the Supplement and filing application for the CEPA certificate of origin as soon as possible to seek more benefits from the preferential policy.
