The 2012 China International Jewelry Exhibition was held May 25 to 28 in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
Exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions participated in the event.
Overseas buyers from United States, France, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Russia and Thailand attended the exhibition.
Shandong is both the largest source and largest consumer of jewelry in China. The province's output of gold and gems rank first in the country. Additionally, the total jewelry consumption in the province is over 3 billion yuan (US$ 472.8 million).
Qingdao is the largest processor of precious metals in northern China.
