The first Qingdao-based E-commerce Conference is scheduled to kick off on July 6 with the aim at exploring the e-commerce model innovation creation in consumer electronics.

CEOs of major domestic home appliance suppliers, traditional and online retailers will attend the conference, including Haier Vice President Zhou Yunjie, TCL Vice President Xiao Feng, Amazon Vice President Zhang Jiantao, and 360buy vice president Zhang Shouchuan.

In 2011, Qingdao registered over 10 billion yuan (US$1.6 billion) in e-commerce transactions and more than 4,000 companies with official websites.

In 1999, the coastal city was chosen as a national pilot city to develop e-commerce.
