The Shandong International Auto Industry Show 2013 will open August 7 at the Qingdao International Exhibition Center in Jimo, show organizers announced Thursday.

About 100 motor factories and dealers will bring 80 brands to the show. The show is expected to attract more than 1,000 journalists.

The show attracts automobile brands from around the world, including America's Shanghai GM, Ford and Chrysler; Germany's Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche and BMW; France's PEUGEOT and Citroen; Japan's TOYOTA, Honda and Nissan and South Korea's Hyundai and KIA.

The show will include demonstrations and test drives. It is also part of a project to promote the use of infant car seats, and legislation related to car seats.
