A 100-day-to-go celebration was held for the 2014 Qingdao Horticulture Expo at the expo park on January 15. Hundreds of citizens, enterprise sponsors and volunteers attended the ceremony and released a total of 100 balloons to convey their blessings and expectations.

The spokesman voiced the commitment that they will finalize the full preparations for the event over the upcoming 100 days. The construction of the principal buildings inside the park has been completed and interior decorating has started, he added.

The horticulture expo will present gardening landscapes made up by grasses, flowers, arbors, bushes and ground covers. Until now, all the planting and growing has been finished, with some 56,000 arbors, 53,000 shrubs and 610,000 square meters of ground cover planted.
