A promotional activity promoting the Qingdao City image and the upcoming 2014 Qingdao Horticultural Exposition was held at the Flushing neighborhood of Queens in New York City, United States, on February 25.
Through displaying Qingdao sceneries and characteristics across panels and brochures, as well as broadcasting commercials, the delegation also presented the design notion, the various exhibition areas and the “From the Earth, for the Earth” theme of the expo.
The activity draws great attention around the city’s Flushing neighborhood, which is a largely Chinese community. Many overseas Chinese signed the expo’s emblem.
Noemi Portillo, a girl from the U.S., said that she is now eager to go to Qingdao, especially after seeing the expo mascot and learning the story of the Celestial Beauty Scattering Flowers.
“We will not only go to attend the horticultural exposition, but also to publicize the event in New York to attract more U.S. people to go there,” said Yuan Yi, a member of the Chinese Community in New York.
