Qingdao heads for tourism peak

Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong Province, is listed in the top 10 most popular tourist city in China and top 10 cities with most tourist arrivals in China during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival which ran from May 31 to June 6 this year. [qingdaonews.com]

Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong Province, is listed in the top 10 most popular tourist city in China and top 10 cities with most tourist arrivals in China during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival which ran from May 31 to June 6 this year, according to statistics jointly issued by the China Tourism Academy and Ctrip.com, a website providing online travel services.

The other nine most popular cities on the list are Sanya, Shanghai, Xiamen, Lijiang, Beijing, Guilin, Jiuzhaigou, Xi'an and Kunming; the other nine cities with most tourist arrivals are Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Suzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Laoshan Mountain Scenic area is the most popular tourist spot in Qingdao according to the statistics.

More travelers tend to reserve a ticket for visiting one of the scenic spots either online or through APP. The total number of people reserving tickets through the abovementioned channels was nearly 10 times that compared to the number during the same period last year.
