The first animation film from Qingdao 'C9, Return Home' landed a contract with 35 countries including India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt at the Cannes Film Festival to be shown next year, according to the Animation and Communication School of Qingdao Agricultural University.
The 3D film, planned to be finished at the end of this year, is being made by more than one hundred students and teachers.
Set in Qingdao, it tells the story of an alien named C9 who was forced to land at the city's seashore because of spaceship problems. Eventually C9 is saved by a teenager who helps him return to his home planet.
