A cultural relic exhibition 'Silk Road Civilization of Ancient Xinjiang,' opens on July 26, 2014, at the Qingdao Municipal Museum in Qingdao, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province. 189 cultural relics including brocades, painted murals, gold vessels, and Buddhist scrolls are on display, most of which were unearthed in Xinjiang Autonomous Region in Northwest China. The exhibition consists of three sections covering the development of the Silk Road and will run from July 26 to Sept 15. The ancient Silk Road served as a corridor for trade and cultural exchange between Asia and Europe for 2,000 years.
