With the theme of 'Chasing Dream in Qingdao,' the 23rd Qingdao International Beach Festival opened at the first bathing beach and it lasts for five days. Many people took part in the related activities and showed their enthusiasm for the festival.

Chen Yongli, 65 years old, has engaged in sand sculpture and winter swimming for more than two decades. On behalf of Qingdao Winter Swimming Association, Chen made a sand sculpture just by hands and shovel to congratulate the success for the festival.

Liu Wu, one of the first beach volleyball players in China, now directed a team of Qingdao beach volleyball club. He has trained some famous athletes such as the gold medalist Ma Yuanyuan on Incheon Asian games, and many good players in national team.

Jiang Hongqian, an art teacher in elementary school, guided her students making sand paintings at the festival. She has been participating in the sand art events since 2003 and accumulated abundant experience. As she believes all the time, it's very important for the students to find their interests in art and they could find beauty everywhere.
