Up till the end of November in 2014, software and information service industry in Qingdao has achieved a business income of 95 billion yuan, up by 47% year on year, which is over 20% higher than national growth rate. The rank of growth rate rises from the 5th last year to the 1st among all sub-provincial cities. Moreover, the income of software businesses has exceeded 100 billion yuan.

In the first 11 months of 2014, the area of new construction project in software industry base is 1.3 million square meters and the newly completed area is 1.18 million square meters. Over 100 enterprises have entered into the newly completed industry base.

In 2014, more than 20 enterprises have achieved 100 billion yuan in software businesses including Haier and Hisense which rank the 3rd and 7th respectively in the top 100 enterprises of software enterprises. In 2015, Economic and Information Commission of Qingdao will focus on the construction of talent training institutions including bringing in talents and adding courses related to information and software in local universities.
