Qingdao Mayor Zhang Xin spoke with a Malaysiam delegation led by Chief Minister Mukhriz Mahathir in the Shangri-La Hotel Qingdao on May 12. Both sides signed an agreement on partnership, the Qingdao Daily reported.

Zhang introduced harbor construction, rubber and fishing in Qingdao, adding that Qingdao and Kedah have worked closely in trade, especially fishing. He hoped to further cooperation after the visit.

Mukhriz Mahathir said cooperation has advanced smoothly. He hoped to enhance communication in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Qingdao and Alor Setar, capital of Kedah, signed a letter of intent for a partnership.
