Sri Lanka hosts investment and trade fair in Qingdao

Sri Lanka held a negotiation conference on investment and trade on Nov 11 in Qingdao to seek more cooperation. The fair aims to develop extensive cooperation in aquatic products, jewelry, tea, garments, cosmetics, coconut oil, rubber and ceramics in the future. Eleven companies from Sri Lanka signed letters of intent with some 30 Qingdao companies, such as Tsingtao Group, the Port of Qingdao, Rubber Valley and Hiking Group. The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative brings more opportunities and wider cooperative space, said the president of the Sri Lanka-China Business Council, Navindra Abeysekera. Chunyu Xianli, vice director of Qingdao's Bureau of Commerce, said, Qingdao and Sri Lanka have deep historical ties in exchanges and cooperation and should enjoy more frequent contact. |
