About 560 PhD students recently visited Qingdao, a coastal city of east China's Shandong province, and over 300 PhD students have intention to stay to work in the city or cooperate in related projects at a job fair for high-achieving students.

Qingdao municipal government invited 560 PhD students from 66 famous and key universities at home and abroad to the city such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shandong University.

The annual job fair was the third of its kind held in Qingdao to invite elite and doctoral students to join the city's efforts at boosting the development of its specialty industries and transformation.

The job fair organized over 50 well-known local employers, including the Institute of Oceanology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ocean University of China and Haier Group, the Qingdao-based home appliances manufacturer, which provided over 1,200 positions and 30 projects involving fields like marine environment, electronic information, software development, new energy and new materials.

Through the nice mechanism, the coastal city attracts more and more personnel at high level to dedicate their lives to high and new technological industries.
