Qingdao received global recognition for fight on climate change

The 2016 C40 Mayors Summit, scheduled for Wednesday-Friday, brought together the world's most influential mayors and other officials from 90 cities, as well as industry leaders.

Li Qun, Secretary of CPC Qingdao Committee, attended the conference and introduced the city's efforts on low-carbon and sustainable projects.

The summit will bring together mayors who will represent people to present their common goals for a sustainable future.

Qingdao became the member city of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) at the summit.

Created and led by cities since 2005, C40 is a network of the world's megacities, focusing on tackling climate change and driving urban action that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks, while increasing the health, wellbeing and economic opportunities of urban citizens.
