Qingdao maintains growth in foreign trade

Qingdao's foreign trade continued to post double-digit growth in the first quarter of the year amid government supportive measures, official data showed recently.

 

The city's total imports and exports of goods rose 28.6 percent year on year to 119.23 billion yuan (US$17.31 billion) in the January-April period, according to the data from the municipal bureau of commerce.

The volume of imports and exports of local private enterprises rose by 35.8 percent on last year's same period, which drove the exports growth rate up 6.1 percentage points, and the imports growth rate up 38.8 percentage points.

The rapid growth is caused mainly by the recovery of international market, and the city's foreign trade enterprises making endeavor in adjusting the structure, shifting the development model and facilitating economic transition.
