Recently, Shangdong University’s Brain and Quasi-Brain Science Institute settled in Qingdao Oceantec Valley.

The institute will build an international brain science center in Qingdao alongside other advanced academic platforms to settle in Oceantec Valley, including Shandong’s Key Provincial Laboratory for Recovery of Brain Function, Engineering Research Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Neurone Diseases and China-Norway Research Center for Brain Science.

Qingdao international brain science center will foster talents in brain and quasi-brain science and conduct scientific research in brain structure and function, early diagnosis and intervention of cerebral diseases, and brain dynamics technology and quasi-brain intelligence.

It will also promote strategic cooperation with University of Bergen, University of British Columbia and University of Southern California.

To promote the application of the research results, Qingdao will also build an international brain hospital in a bid to improve the level of local clinical diagnosis and treatment of brain-related diseases.
