Qingdao marine S&T input and output efficiency tops China

On September 5, the 2016 Report on National Marine Innovation Index passed review in Qingdao. According to the report, Qingdao, as a strong maritime city, tops the country in marine science and technology input and output efficiency. The report was prepared by the First Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration and National Marine Information Center. It shows that the average efficiency of Qingdao’s marine science and technology input and output is 0.835, ranking first in China. The scale efficiencies of Qingdao, Xiamen, Dalian and Hangzhou all reach the best level of over 80%. Their investments in marine science and technology are very close to the optimal state. As for pure technical efficiency, Qingdao is at the national optimum level with the average of 0.999, indicating that Qingdao has obvious advantages in marine science and technology resource management. |
