Qingdao released its plan to build an international air hub and an aviation industry capital for Northeast Asia at a press conference on Oct 11.
According to the plan, the Jiaodong international airport will be fully operational by 2021, with a number of globally competitive enterprises in logistics, aviation maintenance, corporate aircrafts and manufacturing setting up shops in the airport economic area. The airport industry’s output value is estimated to reach 100 billion yuan at that point.
And by 2026, the output value will amount to 150 billion yuan with the completion of an air hub for Northeast Asia, with a comprehensive aviation industry system that balances human experiences and ecological civilization.
The final stage of the plan will arrive at 2030, when Qingdao is built into an international air aviation hub with an output value of 200 billion yuan, and its airport economic area is developed into a national innovation base for aviation.
