CONCERTS
The symphony orchestra of the National Ballet will stage a concert featuring Leonard Bernstein's (1918-90) works. Bernstein is a famous US conductor, composer, pianist and educator. He is the winner of Emmy and Grammy awards and his three musicals On the Town, West Side Story and Candide make him popular around the world.
The latest concert, conducted by Zhang Yi, presents three elements selected from On the Town, a serenade, and ballet dance Fancy Free.

The Yinhe Qinsi band from Inner Mongolia will bring a breeze from the grassland to the stage of the capital. The pristine long tone, the melodious matouqin (horse-head stringed instrument) and other Mongolian instruments are highlights of the performance.

The Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra will come to Beijing. With Veiga Jardim taking the baton, the concert features such masterpieces as Poulenc's Concertos for Two Pianos and Mendelssohn's The Symphony No 3 in A Minor Op 56.
