The Central Meteorological Office has concluded a weather forecast and control services rehearsal for the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
The rehearsal took place from July 6th to the 8th -- exactly one month ahead of the opening date. It was attended by the meteorological bureaus of all host cities, the National Climate Center, and various other meteorological agencies.
During the rehearsal they practiced and enhanced internal communication using July 8th as their target date. Participants also conducted in-depth analysis of Olympic weather forecasts twice a day.
Beijing Meteorological Bureau assistant director Wang Jianjie says the primary purpose of the rehearsal was to discover and address any problems in the system. This will help ensure that weather services run smoothly and effectively during the days leading up to the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
