Torrential rains have swept through the quake-stricken province of Sichuan in southwestern China over the past two days. It's the most powerful and widespread rainfall in the province since the beginning of this year's flood season.
As much as 300 millimeters of rain has fallen so far, the showers are expected to ease later today. Prefabricated houses set up after the May earthquake have withstood the severe weather, with no damage reported so far.
Quake victims have not been greatly affected thanks to preparations in advance.
