Compared with an extreme sport like surfing which can often challenge one's courage, table soccer also known as fusball or babyfoot is a safer pastime, but one that requires skill, passion and excitement.
Fred gower said, " It has the action of ping pong strategy like chess and the technique of pool. A very exciting game."
In the West, this game was very nearly killed off with the rise of video games in the 1980s, but in China, it's just starting to become popular.
In 2007, China held its first table soccer open championship. China's Canadian coach, Fred Gower, led the team to second place, but he was expecting more.
Fred gower said, "I confuse the Chinese because I say that Canada is my mother, but China is my wife. My hope is that some day China will win a world Championship and there will be an old man proudly holding his China jersey just knowing that he was a small part of it."
