As the human Olympics ends, the canine equivalent is reaching its climax this week as Hong Kong hosts its first for pets.

Sporty pooches of all shapes and sizes took part in various events including racing, high jump, long jump and even push ups.

After the tough competition dogs were rewarded with a dip into a man-made pool or a shower to cool down.

A prize presentation ceremony will be held at the end of August to honour the canine Olympians.
