Hong Kong, Macao athletes set for Paralympics

The Olympics are now over, but for others, the games have yet to begin. Ten days to go before the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games begin, and the disabled athletes from Hong Kong are ready to compete.

Hong Kong will send a total of 21 athletes to the Games. They will compete in eight events: athletics, boccia, equestrian, weight-lifting, shooting, table tennis, wheelchair fencing and rowing. So Wa Wai, Yu Chui Yee, Chan Yui Chong, Kwok Hoi Ying, Leung Yuk Wing are the athletes carrying the hopes for Hong Kong to win medals.

Meanwhile, Macao is also ready to compete in the Games. This is the sixth time for Macao to take part in the Paralympics since 1988. They will send two disabled athletes to Beijing this time. They will compete in swimming and athletics.
