With the one-week break over National Day holiday fast approaching, China's railway authority has released its schedules for travel, over what's expected to be a very busy period. 86 more trains providing round-trips will start temporary operations. 42 will serve big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
The Ministry of Railway is predicting that as many as 57 million passengers are expected to use train services as of October the 5th, with about 5.7 million passengers boarding trains every day.
That figure is expected to rise to as high as 6-and-a-half million for the first day of the one-week holiday on September the 29th.
Railway authorities are already urging passengers to buy their tickets as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
