Yemen's official news agency quoted a security source saying that the militants had planned two suicide attacks with car bombs targeting the building.

The source said 2 cars had tried to break into the embassy compound and the guards had managed to explode them outside the security barriers. The embassy building was been unscathed and none of the embassy workers were injured.
